India helps the poor with expensive drug

In India a mix of activists, government, doctors and local medicine products succeeded in lowering the price of sofosbuvir, a costly remedy for hepatitis C. In Canada and the US the treatment costs $ 48.000 to $ 84.000 dollars. But in India they are able to provide it for a price as low as $ 80 for a 12 week course. Read more at Undark.
